Collaboration Ideas

  • Bring your class to the media center, at a prearranged time.  Let me know your objective, and how I can help you. I will pull books, and assist your students in finding the appropriate resources. If you warn me far enough ahead of time, I can even prepare a pathfinder for your students!
  • Arrange a planning time with me! We can work together to build a project. We could incorporate media center and content area standards/ objectives into this project. To make this work well, I could evaluate the information literacy part and you could evaluate the content area section. Consider this co-teaching opportunity!
  • Let's design a cross curricular unit. We can get a number of teachers together. Perhaps we could have the World History and English teachers work together to create a unit about Ancient Greece. In World History, students could learn about the location of Greece, Greek culture, and important sites in Greece. In English students could read various items from Ancient Greece, such as one of Hesiod or Homer's works. For a final project for the unit, the students could visit the library to learn information literacy skills in order to write a paper about an aspect of Ancient Greece. This idea would cover standards from 3 subjects! What an idea to help our students learn! Here is an example: Ancient Greek Mythology Unit
